Sometimes a character doesn't mesh with a game, or you the player wind up not meshing with the game. While we're sorry to see you go, we do understand. If you would like to drop from the game, please fill out the below form and comment it to this entry.
What happens OOCly when I drop? Your character is removed from Taken list/etc and is available for other players to apply for if they desire, but we do not remove journals from access to the game. Similarly, your status on the game Discord will be shifted from "Player" to "Retiree," which has almost the same access privileges as being a player (except that you cannot post new threads in forum channels). This is because the mod team believes in preserving the ability of dropped players to read their old threads if they so desire. However, if you decide to remove your journals from communities or leave the Discord of your own accord, you do not get these privileges back.
What is the Grace Period? If you're presently in the game with a single character, and that character isn't working out, you can request a two-week grace period in which you're still considered "in the game" for the purposes of apping a new character without waiting through the application queue again. In order to get this grace period, you must drop using the drop form on this page rather than "idling out" and being cleared by Activity Check processing, and you must indicate that you want it on the line provided.
What happens to characters who are dropped? They disappear. Not mid-conversation or anything, but they're just suddenly not around anymore and no one knows for sure what happened to them. The first person to know is probably going to be their roommate, who will suddenly have the room to themselves (if the dropped character was actually sleeping there), at least temporarily.
What happens to a dropped character's stuff? Things they brought into the game with them disappear with them. With certain exceptions (that will be noted at the time characters obtain them), anything they find while on the ship remains behind, and is up for grabs.
What if I dropped a character in the past and want to re-app them some months down the line? If you want to bring a character back with their memories of the first time around, just inform a moderator of your intentions when you re-apply. However, if you are outside of the two-week grace period, you will still have to wait through the application queue like a normal applicant. Note that re-apped characters may be given Arrival information different from new characters whose apps are accepted in the same time period, so be sure to read it carefully!
